  • Oklahoma History Heroes and your students will discover the exciting adventures of Pearl Carter Scott, who spent her youth flying in the skies over Oklahoma! (Jan. 2 – March 15, 2019)

Our Education Session programs involve the best of history, art and music for a total learning experience.

Engaging students to learn and have fun is what our Great Expectation certified educators do best as they teach them about Chisholm Trail and Oklahoma history. Bringing historical characters to life, our educators even dress in period costumes of the people they represent.

Students discover the interesting lives of such notables like Mrs. Will Rogers (Betty Rogers), Pearl Carter Scott, Edna Ahrens, Johnnie Abernathy or Lizzie Johnson, depending upon the current program. For the winter 2019 session of Oklahoma History Heroes, you’ll hear Pearl Carter Scott share her tales of being a young girl flying above the state of Oklahoma. (That’s Edie Smith Stewart in the photo, portraying Pearl Carter Scott!)

Our educators encourage students in investigating the past through interactive teaching. Great attention to detail and accuracy is provided by our teaching staff, which encourages students to learn more and be enthusiastic when they leave, and wanting to learn more.  The target grades are 3rd, 4th and 5th, though we host younger students, older students and adults.

“Our trip was indeed enjoyable. I must say that it is truly a blessing that our students are able to participate in such a hands-on and fun field trip which educates them on the wonders of southwest Oklahoma. The fact that you are able to fund this opportunity for our students is truly what touches my heart. As an educator of 29 years, it is a sad reality that my students today are not allotted the same opportunity to experience hands-on learning through field trips like my students experienced 10 years ago. We thank you and your wonderful and talented staff for having the perception of knowing what you are giving to our students and finding a way to remove the barriers which keep these experiences from happening.”

Thank you for all you do!
