The Texas Live Stock Journal for Saturday, December 1, 1883 announced, “It is reported that Capt. Richard King, who is engaged enclosing a new pasture along the Gulf coast and lower Rio Grande, has fenced, or is fencing in, about fifty small land owners, nearly all Mexicans.
