Western Spirit Celebration
Join us for our recently revived Western Spirit Celebration!
CTHC invites you to our Western Spirit celebration Oct. 1. Western Spirit is free and open to the public. Enjoy the day sampling genuine chuckwagon food, children’s art activities and more. Western Spirit is 10 am to 5 pm.
In addition to Chuckwagon cooking, this year we will also be judging a Best Jam, Jelly, Butter or Preserves competition. If you have a great jam, jelly, butter or preserve, join our competition! The spreads will be served to the public on biscuits made by Chuckwagon competitors from 10 a.m. to noon. The competition is judged on taste and canning technique. The Best Jam, Jelly, Butter or Preserve competition winner will be announced at 11:30 a.m. Cobbler will be served 2-4 p.m.
We will have live performances throughout the day too! This includes stock dog demonstrations by Roy Cox, historical interpretations by Wallace Moore, dulcimer playing by Jan Carroll, line dancing by the Stephens County Extension Line Dancers, singing by Kassandra Murillo, Reece Williams, and Miss Stephens County, Lily Taylor, and more! Loyalty Farm & Co will be here with their petting zoo, and they will have their merch and special treats for sale. We will have barn quilts demonstrations too.
We are also looking for talented artists ages 1-10 for our coloring contest! Parents can pick up the color sheet from CTHC. All completed sheets must be returned to CTHC by 4 p.m. Sept. 29. Competition categories are ages 1-4 and ages 5-10. Winners will be notified on Sept. 30 and can pick up their prize on Oct. 1 when the winners are announced live during our event.
More details to come…stay tuned!
