Homeschool Families & Groups

We ♥ Our Homeschoolers!

There are several options available for homeschool families and groups.

Visiting as a family:

The Center is open Monday-Sunday.  All visitors have a professional guide provide an overview of the Center and a brief introduction to the Chisholm Trail.  Families are welcome to come any time without reservation and tour the Center’s interactive exhibits including the 4D theater and animatronics.  Plan on spending about two hours.

Admission is the same as for our standard guests. Costs are listed here.

The Center changes temporary exhibits about every eight weeks, and changes our educational exhibits quarterly.  Click here to view the calendar.

Visiting as a homeschool group:

Homeschool groups can participate in all the aspects of our educational programming. Our education coordinator, Leah Mulkey, will work with you to design a day based on your students’ ages and interests. We know you like flexibility, and that’s why we give you lots of options. “Groups” are generally over ten students. Special arrangements can be made for smaller or very large groups. Please make a reservation at least three week in advance. Since each day is tailored to your specifications, the class can be as long or short as you desire.

Cost is $4.00 per participating student.

Teachers/Parents are free.

Non-participating children and adults will be charged the standard admission rate.

Visiting as an individual homeschooler:

Students who are not part of a homeschool group, but want the full educational experience, can join one of our traditional school groups for the session.  Contact education coordinator, Leah Mulkey, and she will walk you through options for schools that have booked and are covering topics similar to your schedule.  The homeschool student is added into one of the traditional school groups for the day and rotated with that group.  We’ve found this works very well when students join in with a traditional school for which they may have friends.  It also works well for students that are traveling or visiting in our area.  Plan on spending about two hours.

Cost is $4.00 per participating student.

Teachers/Parents are free.

Non-participating children and adults will be charged the standard admission rate.
