Art by Jim Weaver

Art to purchase

Jim Weaver, a leathercraft artist from Edmond, Oklahoma, created new leather hide work depicting life along the Chisholm Trail. This unique exhibit is currently on display at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center. Weaver said the scene of his new pieces begins in San Antonio and ends at the railroad stockyards in Abilene, Kansas. His exhibit depicts the extreme weather conditions faced along the trail, topography, and more.

Weaver completed extensive research for this project and spent almost a year perfecting this vivid story of life along the Chisholm Trail. Weaver’s research included visual and written references of the 1870’s cattle drives, drovers’ journals, and geography. Weaver’s exhibit highlights his new pieces as well as a variety of additional works.

If you are interested in purchasing his work in our collection, call us Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 580-252-6692.

Your purchases of our original fine art paintings help support the artist and the Heritage Center also receives a commission of the sale. This benefits our art and educational programs.
