Bison – Our American Animal @ Chisholm Trail Heritage Center

We are bringing the museum to you each week with new Zoom shows that you can watch and participate in Q&A. Covering everything from storytime, to the science of animals on the trail, to art, history, and demonstrations.

For Wednesday, May 6, our presenters, Edie and Mary, will be sharing information on how the Bison – our American mammal, has impacted our country. They will talk about its history, its role in agriculture, and more. There will be a Q&A for you to participate in if you choose. This event is for all ages. A link to the live online event will be added to our Blog post that morning.
Be sure to get logged in before the program begins. Link is usually live at 2:50 p.m.

Join us at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 14, for a Zoom show with artist Janet Loveless. She has three pieces in our Garis Gallery of the American West that are available to purchase.

Janet will talk about her career as an artist and about the pieces she has on display. There will be a time for Q&A at the end of the Zoom show. This will last about 30 minutes. A link will be added here and on our Facebook and Twitter that morning.

Cowboy Musician Allen Wooten @ Chisholm Trail Heritage Center

Cowboy musician Allen Wooten, who owns the Cowboy Opry and Music Store in Comanche, Oklahoma, will join us at the museum for a live event to talk about how he has made music his life’s career. He will also entertain us in this online Zoom show with some music. Some of you may be familiar with Allen if you’ve attended our annual National Day of the Cowboy celebration in July. Allen and his friends, Gaylon and Missy, have been our live band for the last few years.

We hope you join us and we will be adding the link for this event, here and on our social media platforms, that morning.
