Colorful illustration featuring the Chisholm Trail with a longhorn background.
Backside description: It is generally accepted that the Chisholm Trail derived its name from Jesse Chisholm, operator of numerous trading posts. Deep ruts were left from the wagons loaded with buffalo hides and other goods that Chisholm transported through Indian Territory. The route came to be called Chisholm Trail and was used to drive great herds of cattle from Texas to Kansas.
